Today it was very evident that Sam's counts were low. He had a hard time getting out of bed, wouldn't eat, nauseated, no energy, and felt exhausted. It's definitely time for a blood transfusion.

We arrived at the hospital at nine this morning, Christine accessed his VAD, started him on saline and we waited for his blood to arrive. After the first transfusion you could see a visible difference in his coloring and was able to sit up, but he still needed another unit of blood. It takes about 3 hours to finish one bag. He slept all morning and later watched a movie. We arrived home about 4:15 and he had something to eat. What an incredible difference in him since this morning! We sure appreciate the many people who volunteer to donate blood. It is a tremendous gift and miraculous to see how it can transform someones life in just a few hours. I need to make blood donation a regular part of my schedule too.

Time to make dinner...just thought I`d let you know that Sam is doing much better after 2 very long days. He`s been in hospital for day treatments 6 out of the last 9 days. He has one week to recuperate before his next treatment...a little break will do him good.

Enjoy your evening,
Debbie

Bruce & I are regular blood donors so it is great to hear first hand what those donations do to help Sam and so many others in his situation. Thanks for keeping up with the postings because it sure helps us be more effective in our praying for all of you. Our God is truely awesome and we praise Him with you for all He has and continues to do in all our lives.

Hello Sam, I am always amazed how courages you are. Everyday we pray for you Sam, that you would feel the love of Jesus close beside you when you have a tough time.

Just wanted to let you know last week I was in Las Vegas for the Computer Electronic show. You would have had a blast there Sam, they over 2500 exhibitors with lost of new computer devices.

I went with my friend Marty and his wife Donna. Marty is in a wheel chair as he is qaudraplegic and he is not able to use his hands. The reason we went to the Show is to see a computer device called the ACCS "Alternative Computer Control System" The ACCS is designed to to place into the palette of your mouth and from that you can operate a computer with your tongue. It will take about a week to come in and then we will begin to demonstrate it.
One day we will come to demonstrate this to you.

Now I pray that God would love and care for you, your Mom and Dad as well as your Sisters.
