Day 33 and Shave for the Brave

I woke up this morning, watched the high school chapel, and then the Shave for the Brave began. It was weird seeing all my friends have their hair shaven off when I still have most of my hair! Maybe I'll be one of those cancer patients that doesn't lose their hair and so many kids at school will be bald. It sure was sad and a little funny to see Mrs. Nich get her hair buzzed. I thank all of you at school again for doing that wonderful fund raiser for my family.

My mom's cousin Greg came for dinner tonight. We went to the boardwalk to walk and talk. Afterwards we went to Timmy's for a hot chocolate. It was good to talk to him about cancer because he has stomach cancer and began his chemo just 2 weeks ago. It was interesting to see the similarities between us.
Thanks again everyone, Sam

I was very emotional today seeing all those staff and kids shaving their hair off or donating their locks to cancer. It was hard to see clearly with the web cam so we are looking forward to seeing the before and after pictures. Thank you for sharing in this very brave way to support us and others that you know that have had or are battling cancer. Julie, I really appreciated your comments and will remember to pray for our friends and my cousin when I see the daily reminders of 3, maybe soon 4 of my bald family members. I was absolutely shocked, stunned, surprised, and in disbelief to see Karly and Katelyn sitting up on stage at the end getting their hair shaven off for their brother Sam. With all you girls are going through you know you didn't have to do that at all. You are all amazing to have done this and to the many students, staff, parents, and others in our community who have contributed to Sam's Trust Fund to help with the many added costs we have and will continue to have throughout the next 3 years.

Thank you for your acts of kindness, sacrifice, support and love. Yes, bald is very beautiful and very meaningful. You bald Cedars Eagles have just made it onto my growing hero list! With much gratitide, love Mrs. Goertzen

Well, I must say Sam and Debbie I am freezing cold this morning and looking for a toque. Wow! what and experience, I think the funniest thing though was your Mom's face when you crazy, beautiful sisters shaved their heads. Oh mama!! There are still gorgeous. I was so glad to see you guys on the big screen! You look good Sam, it was just an absolute privilege to do this for you. If all it took to make you well was shaving my head I would do it everyday. Love and hugs to you both. Rosie
