Summer Plans

As school comes to an end, anticipated summer holiday plans become a reality. There is no doubt Sam and I feel out of the loop when it comes to keeping up with our friends in Prince George. We are so used to seeing everyone at school, sporting events, church and at home. We are wondering what your summer plans are and what your family is planning on doing. If you leave us a blog comment we can catch up on your plans and dream about your vacation.

Obviously part of our family will be here in Vancouver as Sam continues his chemo treatments. The girls will hopefully be able to spend some time at the cabin in Vernon with Auntie Darlene and Josh. This is one of the hardest things for Sam, that he will not do the things and be with the family and friends that he looks forward to all year long. We will try to do some fun, normal things in between the difficult treatment days. Karly is very excited about her participation in the Summer Games Basketball Team. She and Kayla, another Cedars Bald Eagle, made the team in spring and have been training and practicing hard. What a highlight that will be for all involved. Katelyn is looking forward to going to Homewood Sailing Camp with some great Cedars friends as well: Alannah, Carson, Mitch, and Jacob. (Two who are also Cedars Bald Eagles). It's comforting for me as a recovering, shocked mother to know they will not be the only kids walking around bald this summer...our kids will be well supported wherever they go this summer. In August Katelyn will be serving at Ness Lake Bible Camp as a junior counsellor, located just outside of Prince George. We hope and pray that many kids will come to know Jesus as their Forever Friend or connect or reconnect with God in a powerful way this summer.
