Hello from Vernon. It's a cloudy day, but very welcome after all the heat we've had this past month. (Sorry to all the Prince George readers if that hurts). Sam's wish came true this week. He so desperately wanted to spend a few days at his uncle and aunt's cabin and made this repeadly known to his doctor. Sam was granted permission if he promised to abide by several rules. He's been sticking to it. He feels so normal here even though his activities are altered. It makes all our hearts glad to see having fun and enjoying his lake friends. God has surprised Sam with another week to build his strength and blood counts and so another week at his most favorite place in the world is his to enjoy. God is providing for us, blessing us with his compassion, love, mercy and grace! We are refreshed and renewed by the splendor this place (Kalamalka Lake) has provided for 3 generations of Goertzen's.

Just this morning on the deck I was reading in the Psalms and this verse brought tears to my eyes as I read 103:5: God who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. That is what God is doing for Sam and Ger. (This also happens to be Ger's favorite place). Ger got some great sailing these past two days which really restores his spirit. He had quite the adventure today when his trapeze line broke and he fell off the boat. He was lucky the boat flipped over or it would have sailed off without him! A neighbor, with his boat, came to his rescue and helped him right it. All in a days sail!

I love the mountains and valley's, the sound of the waves lapping on the shore, the beautiful sunsets, the musical birds, and the chance to enjoy God's sanctuary.

Karly arrives to Kelowna for the Summer Games and she is psyched! I can't wait to see her and watch her team play!
Bye for now.

Debbie

Hi Debbie,(Mrs. Geortzen) it is Tara Byl here. We look at your blog every day and get so excited when you`ve found time to write. Understandably life is busy & complicated for a while, thank you for sharing with us, as not a day goes by that we don`t think and speak of you. It`s great that you have found some normalcy when times are so stressed & excessively detailed. I find reading your blog spiritually & religiously educational. I admire your strength ,unending faith and ability to see the positive in every day.I aspire to deal with life's challenges with as much grace as you`ve shown. I hope the summer goes smoothly with as much family time as possible. Maybe the doctors will allow Sam and yourself to fly home at some point to connect with much missed family & friends. In our hearts & prayers. The Byls

P.S. Thank you for the beautiful card & picture, they are cherished.

Just catching up with the Goertzen clan and see my oldest was down for a visit last weekend....looks like fun was had by all.
Howard is on the island and will be swinging by on Saturday morning to pick up the crew. He has been on Vancouver Island all week and said the weather has been beautiful so I am sure all the Homewood crew had a fabulous week of sailing.
Take care,
Gayle

Hey Sam! I was reading the blog today and i'm like, hey, nobody told him and his family that my mom had her baby! So ya, my mom had a boy on July 15 and his name is Jackson Eli Daniel Eby. His initials almost spell Jedi, so in the church bulletin they announced it as "Welcome Master Eby." He weighed 9lbs 6oz when he was born and was 22 inches long. Now he is 9lbs 1oz (up from the 8lbs 13oz he went down to) and is 23 inches. He is realllly cute and everybody says he looks like my dad and Megan, with a little bit of me.
Looks like you guys are having fun down there, inbetween hospital visits that is, thats so cool you got to go to Vernon.
My hair is growing back fast, and right now, it looks like I have a straight mini afro. My dad calls me his little hedgepig.
