Another beautiful day in Vancouver dawned bright and early for me. I woke up at 4am and gave Kate and Alanna a nudge to get up too so that we could catch their Greyhound bus to Campbell River. Everything went without a hitch and the five muskateers loaded onto the Greyhound, en route to adventures with Jerry Loeb at Camp Homewood, sailing in Desolation Sound.
Yesterday was a busy day. We picked up Alanna from the airport and Bob came by with a brand new Vancouver City Fire Truck for Sam to take a ride in. Then Sandy and Gary came by with Mitch, Sam, Sarah, Carson, and Jacob for the afternoon. Sam played croquet with them in the afternoon. Then Debbie started a big waterfight and Sam enjoyed soaking the boys with water balloons.
For dinner we had Kyle and Heather (Debbie's nephew who lives in Silicon Valley in California and his girlfriend from Stanford), Bob and Darlene and Josh. Bob found some free last minute tickets (2) to James Taylor at GM place (he is amazing) so we both went off to his concert.
Sam rose to the events of the day but still can't keep anything down. Even today he feels much better but he can't keep even noodle soup down for more than 10 minutes. He's able to drink Gatorade and that seems to be about the only thing that will stay in his system right now. Debbie is at her big Doerksen family reunion in Abbotsford today and Sam and I are having a low - key day of croquet, WII and walking Lucy.
We're still not sure if it would be a good idea to take Sam to Vernon for a couple of days but we're comtemplating the trip. Pray we make the right decision about that. It would be great to lift his spirits but risky if he were to get a fever while we were there.
Have a great weekend.
