It's so great to be together, in our own home, with Sam feeling good, and the delicious, mouthwatering smell of turkey and the trimmings filling our home!
I had bought a smallish turkey one and a half weeks ago and made a special dinner and had hoped that it would suffice for our Thanksgiving meal. Well Sam was not at all happy when he realized a few days ago, that I wasn't planning on repeating "The Feast." So, while I was shopping at Superstore the other night, I walked by the turkey's and felt compelled/guilted into buying one. Sheesh, that kid's got my number! So here we are repeating the whole turkey enchilada thing. Well, it does make sense to do it. We will have leftovers for the week, which is great for Ger, K8and Karly because Sam and I head back to Vancouver on Wednesday afternoon for more treatment at BCCH.
It was a good weekend, but busy as usual. Always so much to do as we get ready for winter which seems to be coming sooner than usual. Sam feels good these days and loves to walk outside with Lucy and just about anybody who will join them. They even made it into the paper this week while walking Lucy in the first snow fall of the season.
Lucy loves to chase her ball but she's started chasing a soccer ball now too. This is pretty funny to watch because she looks like a seal pushing her ball along the surface of the grass. We posted the video for you to watch.
Pray for Sam and Debbie in Vancouver this week as Sam gets another LP (spinal injection in his back) and also more Methotrexate (ever increasing doses)
We have much to be Thankful for to God for giving us these days together as a family.
Debbie

All these pictures of Lucy have us feeling VERY homesick for her! I still believe she is "one of a kind". Thoughts of Thanksgiving turkey also have us feeling homesick...We just got back from Barcelona. It was a very active 3 days away. We walked at least 20,000 steps each day, some of these including a walk up the one mountain overlooking the city and a bike ride up the other mountain. It was nice to leave the colder weather of London behind for the warm breezes of the Mediterranean. Back to work and school tomorrow.
We are so glad that Sam is feeling well enough to enjoy Thanksgiving turkey and fall walks! We'll be thinking and praying for you next week as you head back to Vancouver.
Love, Darlene

Hi Debbie and Sam and family,
I thought of you as I was driving to pick up the girls from school today and prayed for you Sam. God reminds me to pray for you often and I know that it is the most helpful thing that I can do living here in Calgary. I continue to pray for the things that you share on the blog and whatever God puts on my mind for your family.
It is good to celebrate and give thanks, so two turkeys are absolutely appropriate. Enjoy the leftovers :)
God Bless you this week,
Edith Veenstra
