Hello this is Sam and I just want to tell you what's going on. Tomorrow I go to the hospital and I can't eat anything after midnight and my appointment is at 11... that's 11 hours with NO FOOD. I am not looking forward to that. I get an LP which is where they inject medicine into my spine and last time it gave me headaches for a week. I hope I don't get that again. Then I get a bone marrow biopsy and that is for checking how many blast cells are still left in my body.
I had a great day today. This morning I went to my grandmas and grandpas to go say good bye to my cousin Daniel because he is going to work at Camp Firwood in Bellingham, Washington for the summer. We had lunch with grandma, her famous corn chowder, which I love. After that my mom and I went to the Crescent beach for a walk. I stopped to get a popsicle and then we went grocery shopping. One of my moms really good friends is coming over for dinner and for the night and maybe all day tomorrow.
I want to thank all of the students in my class for your letters, cards, gifts, and the stuff you brought back from Barkerville. My mom couldn't fit the gold pan in her suit case so my dad will bring it up in the van when he comes. I will try to pan for gold with the rocks you got me too. My mom says we'll do it in the ocean. I also want to thank the whole school for all of your support and for doing that cool fundraiser. I can't wait to see you guys bald. OK, well that's it for today, good bye for now I will write again.

Hey Sam and Mrs. G,
I hope you don't get any headaches at all! I know how that feels I get lots of headaches and there's nothing that makes it better so I feel your pain. Literally! God's been showing me the bright side in all of this and it's amazing because there are alot of positive things (apart from you being sick)
1. You're growing closer to God
2. We as a school/community are growing closer together from this bump in the road
3. You have such a positive attitude to this whole thing that you're no doubt being a good witness for God.
4. We get to see Rosie shave her head!!!
5. You get all sorts of good food!
6. We have God to trust in through this whole experience
7. There are hundreds of people united through prayer because of you (which is amazing to know)
There are tons of other things to be thankful for also but I'll stop there.
Hope you have a good week and that treatments will go well
Love from Gera
P.S It's great to hear that you're in remission
Hey Sam and Mrs. Goertzen, Just wondering..what are blast cells? I hope you dont get any headaches! We as a school raised $5190.81 dollars. Rosie gets to shave her head. I hope you get better!

hey sam how you doing just wanted to say to bad you couldn't be at sports day.
your buddy lane
Sam,
I hope the headaches ease off this time. After my dad has had a similar procedure he was told to sleep propped up a bit and drink lots of water to help flush your body. Not much helped for my dad though. I just read the Prince George Citizen. Great article about your school helping your family. I hope you get some of your favorite foods today after waiting all those hours with nothing to eat. I'm sure you woke up starving.
Take care and have a good day with your mom. We love reading the blog and go on a couple of times a day for an update.
love the Schulz Family
Hey Sam,
That is soo cool that you get to stay with your grandparents. Today was Sports Day and we really missed you. You are such a strong guy. I would never be able to surive with what your going through. Almost everyone in the school is praying for you @ home and school. Luv the pics.

???????????????????????????????????
PS I luv steak sandwiches.
hey sam
we just had sports day and i didn't do very well. All that happened is that we won the tuggy thingy at the end but that the team did pretty much by themselves. i really wish you could be here because it said on the list of team members that you would be on my team as well as be a captian. (it said you were a honerary captian)
life seems pretty darn dull without you here. With you gone Landon is way more athletic than anyone so in gym whitchever team gets him wins100%. It rules when you do have Landon though.
see ya!
