Day 30

A very quiet day for the White Rock Goertzen's today. Yesterday we had such a great visit with Sarah. She accompanied us to the hospital in the morning, Tia Donna came over in the afternoon so Sarah and I could go for a walk around White Rock. We found some great little boutiques, antique stores and a great place for me to get all my fruits and vegetables for less than half price regular store prices. (Grandma's food treasure find). When we arrived back in the condo it was off to the pier to proceed with the fish and chip experiment. I won't talk about that because Sarah told you all about our adventures yesterday on the blog. Sarah, Donna, Sam and me were a potent combination of people on a day that needed to be celebrated...one month done with great results! My throat was so sore in the evening because we had laughed so much!

Today Sam was tired! He slept and rested most of the day. He will be off of all medications for 6 days...a bit a reprieve and time to rest up. His counts were good yesterday and still no headaches. Thanks for praying and know that they were answered. He is off prednisone for good. This drug is used for severe arthritis patients and for some chemo patients. He is already feeling the effects of not having taken it for 2 days: increased soreness in his joints and muscles, food mania has decreased slightly, feels like his whole body is bruised, and sensitive to touch. The drug masked much of the side effects of the chemo drugs he was on, but now anymore.

We are anxious to hear about K8 and Ger's trip to the Bowren Lakes with K8's Outdoor Ed. class. We have not been in contact with them since Thursday morning. K8 was very excited about it and relieved that her Dad was still going with her. (Sam and I insisted on that!) I'm sure they'll have great tales to tell. It was great group of students, staff and parents going. Karly has been spending a few weekends with her good friend Brittany from school and has been well taken care of by the Mathers family...thanks so much. She had basketball Summer Games practices in Vanderhoof this weekend and is exercised out. She will spend part of the weekend with Auntie LaDonna and Uncle Mel...and always looks forward to that. I'm sure Mel is becoming more and more attached to Lucy each passing day! Thanks you guys for taking such great care of our girls, Ger and our latest family member, Lucy.

We're off to visit grandma and pa and enjoy some sunshine before Sam goes back to bed. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and talk to you later.

Debbie

The Lord is my sheperd , i
shall notbe in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters he restores my soul. he guides me in paths of righteousness
for his names sake even though i walk through the valley of the shawdow of death
i will fear no evil for you are with me
your rod and your staff they comfort me.
you prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enimies
you anoint my head with oil;my cup overflows.

Hi Sam and Debbie; Wow! sounds like you guys were rocking the town in Whiterock the other night. You guys must have sent that terrible weather up here cause it has been so cold!! and rainy. I hope those Bowron Lake trippers didn't get rained out. I'm so glad Sam you didn't get a headache, I have been praying and praying that they wouldn't come like last time. Well, I have been spending the weekend trying on scarves to see what might camouflage my bald head. I know you will be watching on Tuesday, I'll try to wink at you! I'll be the short bald one screaming when they shave my head. Love Rosie
