We slept great last night, thanks to IV Gravol. This morning was busy with discharge data and paperwork and now we're on our way to White Rock to set Debbie and Sam up with their new home. We got the new basketball net installed (with all our names on it) and tried it out. I think people will have to get used to the Goertzens shooting hoops on the patio at 2B over the next three years.
The Uys brought down some serious love from PG! Thanks for all the packages and cards for Sam. He really feels good knowing so many people are looking out for him.
Time to go. Maybe we'll have a chance to write more later if we can find a network to connect to...
PS - Thanks for all the encouraging comments on the blog from friends and family. It really makes a difference to know people are supporting us in so many ways.
Ger (and Kate)

Hi Sam,
Mr.H, Tristan and I want to join with hundreds of others in letting you know that you are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. I'm so glad you have this blog and that I can get into it(being the high-tech that I am!!) It has saved Mrs. Kibble from hearing me ask her two or three times a day if there is an update! What an amazing account of your trust in Jesus and God's faithfulness you have!
The grade ones' have finally got four chicks that hatched on Thurs. and Fri. This was our third time in trying and still the results were low, but the kids are excited.
They are praying faithfully for you every day. We are praying that God continues to wrap his everlasting and strong arms aound you and your family as you go through one day at a time.
Stay close to Him. His strength is made perfect in our weakness and His grace is sufficient for us.
We all miss you!! Keep on smiling! We will keep praying!!
Mrs H

Hey Sam,
Could you do me a favor?
Just make sure Karly does her PE homework. I need you to supervise her 300 push-ups, 300 sit-ups, and 300 jumping jacks ... she tries to cheat :)
Thanks Sam,
Mr C
OK Sam here is some important information you need to study up on ... you know, some good life lessons ... some points that will assist you with undue mental anguish ... hope you enjoy them :)
The laws of golf
LAW 1: No matter how bad your last shot was, the worst is yet to come. This law does not expire on the 18th hole, since it has the supernatural tendency to extend over the course of a tournament, a summer and, eventually, a lifetime.
LAW 2: Your best round of golf will be followed almost immediately by your worst round ever. The probability of the latter increases with the number of people you tell about the former.
LAW 3: Brand new golf balls are water-magnetic. Though this cannot be proven in the lab, it is a known fact that the more expensive the golf ball, the greater its attraction to water.
LAW 4: Golf balls never bounce off of trees back into play. If one does, the tree is breaking a law of the universe and should be cut down.
LAW 5: No matter what causes a golfer to muff a shot, all his playing partners must solemnly chant "You looked up," or invoke the wrath of the universe.
LAW 6: The higher a golfer's handicap, the more qualified he deems himself as an instructor.
LAW 7: Every par-three hole in the world has a secret desire to humiliate golfers. The shorter the hole, the greater its desire.
LAW 8: Topping a 3-iron is the most painful torture known to man.
LAW 9: Palm trees eat golf balls.
LAW 10: Sand is alive. If it isn't, how do you explain the way it works against you?
LAW 11: Golf carts always run out of juice at the farthest point from the clubhouse.
LAW 12: A golfer hitting into your group will always be bigger than anyone in your group. Likewise, a group you accidentally hit into will consist of a football player, a professional wrestler, a convicted murderer and an IRS agent -- or some similar combination.
LAW 13: All 3-woods are demon-possessed.
LAW 14: Golf balls from the same "sleeve" tend to follow one another, particularly out of bounds or into the water (See Law three).
LAW 15: A severe slice is a thing of awesome power and beauty.
LAW 16: "Nice lag" can usually be translated to "lousy putt." Similarly, "tough break" can usually be translated "way to miss an easy one, sucker."
LAW 17: The person you would most hate to lose to will always be the one who beats you.
LAW 18: The last three holes of a round will automatically adjust your score to what it really should be.
LAW 19: Golf should be given up at least twice per month.
LAW 20: All vows taken on a golf course shall be valid only until the sunset.
Have a great day Sam,
Mr C
Sammy,
Ayden here, I've got a couple jokes for you...
What do trees eat for breakfast?
Root loops.
How many squirrels does it take to change a light bulb?
-Who cares, they're nuts!
We sure hope that the apartment in White Rock is a great place to stay for you. While it is not home, at least you can be in a quiet place, out of the hosptial and with just your family. We have so many great memories there, especially of the beach and the pier. When you are feeling up to it, you will definately have to drag your Mom down there and crush some pennies on the rails when a train goes by. Take care Sam, God Bless.
Love,
Ayden and Sophie and Jp and Marnie.
mr geottzen,
I dont know if you remember me or not, but you were my teacher in grade 4. I am now 21, and I can easily say that this song has stayed with me. I have had some hard times, and these words have helped me out:
"its a happy day, and things are going to get better.
its a happy day, and im living for the lord.
its a happy day and things are going to get better, because im living each day with god's promise in my hand"
I dont know if I mixed up any of the words- but my point is to encourage you.
Because that simple song that I learned in g 4 with Rudey in hand- has encouraged me.
Geortzens- be strong.
My thoughts are with you
Hi Sam,
Just a quick note to let you know that I really miss seeing your smiling face around the school.
What I really, really, really miss, though, is playing road hockey with you and Landon and the others. We were going to start the hockey thing up again, but then you decided to go to Vancouver... well, I guess you didn't really DECIDE to go to Van, did you?
Sam, stay strong in the Lord, and know that there are loads of people praying and thinking of you. More important than that, you have a great God who loves you and is watching over you.
Mr. Beeksma
Some people would like to send cards on their own, could you please post your address. Thank you, Sherry
PS It is so wonderful to see God's mighty hands at work.
